Midlands Working Newfoundlands (MWN) is a community of Newfoundland dog enthusiasts dedicated to nurturing the breed’s natural working instincts in a safe, inclusive, and fun environment. Our mission is to:

Encourage responsible ownership and positive training methods.

Foster friendship, cooperation, and mutual respect among members.

Promote the welfare of Newfoundland dogs and the benefits of canine water and draught work.

Offer a supportive space for members of all experience levels to learn, grow, and contribute.

We value enthusiasm over perfection, participation over performance, and teamwork above all. Our focus is always on building a kind, knowledgeable, and committed community that celebrates every member's journey with their dog.

Where we Train

Our home is Holme Pierrpont Country Park (The National Watersports Centre), Nottingham, NG12 2LU.

We have forged a great relationship with the team at Holme Pierrepont and we are enjoying a beautiful, secluded lake to train and have fun with our beloved Newfies. We are already making plans on how we can work closer together and run joint events.

Join online using our membership system. Joining the group is not expensive and we even have memberships for people who don't have a dog, but want to get involved.
